Men in Black 3: Part A

Your enjoyment of Men in Black 3 is greatly augmented if you understand the real history it references.  Here are some of the primary historical references in MIB3.

Part A: Agent J's Fall

While Agent J is falling, he passes through at least two distinct historical periods:
-Great Depression: Some speculators/investors did, indeed, commit suicide during the Great Depression by jumping from tall buildings.  The number of people who jumped to their deaths was probably pretty small (more people died by shooting themselves or by asphyxiation), but such speculator jumping deaths were what you were supposed to think of when Agent J falls alongside a man in a business suit in MIB 3.
-WWII: The ticker-tape parades in NYC were also portrayed during Agent J's fall.  About eight different ticker-tape parades were held in NYC at the end of WWII celebrating various commanders and world leaders from that war.

Knowing history is the key that opens up your understanding of even blockbuster movies!
